Hiking Trails
Here at ArendsRus we embrace nature & serenity thus, to add to your experience we have 7 hiking trails for our guests to enjoy. Our trails vary in distance and experience.
What can you expect:
Our trials crosses various mountain streams, where you can fill your water bottle, and offer spectacular views of the mountain, landscapes and the ocean from George to Mosselbay .
Indigenous plant species including a wide range of fynbos and trees such as the outiniqua yellowwood ( outeniekwageelhout ), red-alder ( rooi-els ), forest-elder (bosvlier) and many more can be seen .
Bird lovers can expect to see the beautiful orange-breasted sunbird (oranjeborssuikerbekkie), victorin’s warbler (rooiborsruigtesanger) and their other feathered friends .
You might also be lucky to spot a bushbuck while making your way through the trees .
What you need to know:
We also have an app which you would need to download as well as the trail you will be hiking. This makes your hike more fun as you can track exactly where you are on the trail. Please note that this is a requirement to make use of our trails.
You can download the app by clicking on one of the buttons below however, the individual Hiking trail maps need to be scanned via a QR code and downloaded at Reception where all the relevant information will be available.
Our inhouse guests can enjoy these trails free of charge. The trails are also open to day-visitors. Registration and parking fee is due upon arrival and needs to be settled at reception.
Open times are 07:00 am to 01:00pm. All guests are requested to be back at 5pm.
All our trials is highly accessible and no climbing or bundu bashing is necessary .
